A few words about you:

I was born in Thessaloniki, where I studied design, graphic arts & interior design. From 1978 to 1983 I studied at the School of Fine Arts in Prague, and later on in Munich, London & New York city. I live and work in Thessaloniki.

Sources of inspiration:

I am interested in everyday scenes of urban life and humans, portraits and their figures.

The mediums you use are:

Mixed techniques, abrasive materials, oils, oil powders, acrylic, tempera, watercolor and various adhesives and varnishes.

Your technics are:

All oil techniques, collage, palimpsest, frottage as well as informel, instinct and random expression. My oldest techniques are collage and mixed techniques and my latest work is new figurative.

How do you set an end, the point of completion, for each one of your projects?

Most of the times, I feel that the project doesn’t end.

How important is the title of an artwork? How do you choose each title?

Each project expresses an autonomous, experiential state. Naming comes from the whole project, using people and environments.

Why did you choose art in your life?

I’ve always been experimenting with different kinds of art in my life. Interior – exterior decoration, photography, photography and theater lighting, theater scenery, pottery and sculpture and finally painting. In the end, painting won me over.
