Aim at the Centre is the fourth work in the series Everything Happens for a Reason,a visual journal of therapeutic introspection built upon three core pillars: recognition,acceptance, and healing. Each painting in the series corresponds to a specific theme explored through psychotherapy sessions, transforming emotional excavation into imagery, marks,symbols, and colour.This particular piece confronts the impact of toxic and manipulative relationships, and the ways in which the words of others imprint themselves like stains on our bodies and subconscious. The work reflects how certain thoughts,reactions, and fears we carry may not truly belong to us, but are residues of external influence and emotional distortion.The painting process mirrors the therapeutic journey itself: progress followed by setbacks,the collapse and reconstruction of inner foundations, and the constant layering and rewriting of our internal narrative.Through repeated overpainting, erasure,and rebuilding, the canvas becomes a psychological landscape, raw,conflicted, and evolving.Aim at the Centre is ultimately a work about reclaiming authorship over one’s inner world,identifying what is ours and what was imposed, and slowly learning to aim again,towards clarity,towards truth,towards the centre.
