Katerina Exarchopoulou was born in Marousi in 1997. She graduated from the School of Architecture at Democritus University of Thrace in 2023. She works as an architect while also actively engaging in visual and applied arts. She has attended seminars in drawing, painting, printmaking, and ceramics in artists’ studios and corresponding workshops.
Her artistic explorations focus particularly on the field of printmaking, a choice influenced by the work and legacy of her grandparents, the painter-printmakers Thanasis Exarchopoulos and Mariora Exarchopoulou.
Her works—employing a variety of expressive media and materials—depict transcendental spaces and creatures as extensions of herself and the people around her. These realms seek to connect the tangible world with the realms of dreams and emotions. Her relationship with nature and her keen observation of its unique forms frequently emerge in her art through free-flowing, organic gestures.
Her dedication to printmaking combines her continuous pursuit of handmade artistic expression with the gradual revelation of an artwork, much like an emotion taking shape and substance as it is given space to unfold.
Since 2024, she has been teaching printmaking techniques in her Athens-based studio, formerly the atelier of Thanasis and Mariora Exarchopoulou. In parallel, she founded the artistic collective Printmakers’ Club, which brings together visual artists, both professionals and amateurs, each with their own artistic background and presence in the broader art scene.
Katerina Exarchopoulou has participated in two group exhibitions:
● Dream, MegArt Gallery, Athens, 2022
● Printmakers’ Club: Printmaking Exhibition, Heterotopians Art and Creativity Space, Kallithea, December 2024. This marks the first group exhibition of the Printmakers’ Club, which she organized and curated.
Additionally, she has participated in the self-organized independent publishing festival Tourlou Fest and collaborates with other artists on various visual arts projects.
